Looking for an upscale (but not too expensive), lesser-known spot for fancy cocktails? Look no further than the Berkshire Room. This dark bar in the Acme Hotel has great drinks. Get the Dealers Choice, where you choose a liquor, a flavor profile (sweet, spicy, etc), and a glass and the bartender will make you a cocktial that meets those parameters on a whim. Especially fun if you sit at the bar, where you can watch the bartenders work. They truly do freestyle it: they'll taste test the drink as they make it, adjust as needed, and sometimes even dump the whole thing out and start over if the flavors didn't work as expected.
