Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chicago Passport mobile application (the "App") operated by Cameron Brenson (Bored in Chicago) ("we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the App.

Description of the Service

Chicago Passport is a mobile application that allows users to discover destinations, collect digital stamps, and explore locations within Chicago and surrounding areas.

Features may include:

  • Viewing destination locations

  • Collecting digital stamps

  • Tracking exploration activity

  • Accessing curated destination packs

  • Subscription-based premium features

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without notice.

We also reserve the right to modify the requirements for earning digital stamps or completing exploration packs, as well as the availability of specific destinations or stamps, at our sole discretion.

User Accounts

To use certain features, you may be required to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering

  • Maintain the security of your account credentials

  • Be responsible for all activity occurring under your account

You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data

  • Interfere with the operation or security of the App

  • Misuse or copy content from the App for commercial purposes

  • Use automated tools, bots, or scraping methods to access the App

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features of the App may require a paid subscription.

Subscriptions are processed through:

  • Apple App Store (iOS)

  • Google Play Store (Android)

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Subscription billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

We do not collect or store payment card information.

Digital Stamps and Virtual Items

The App may allow users to collect digital stamps or similar virtual items.

These digital items:

  • have no monetary value

  • cannot be exchanged for cash

  • cannot be traded, sold, or transferred outside the App

Chicago Passport reserves the right to modify, reset, or discontinue digital stamps or related features at any time.

Third-Party Locations and Businesses

The App may display or reference restaurants, businesses, attractions, parks, museums, or other locations ("Third-Party Locations").

These listings are provided for informational and discovery purposes only.

Chicago Passport:

  • is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the listed businesses unless explicitly stated

  • does not guarantee the accuracy of information such as hours, menus, pricing, or availability

  • is not responsible for services or experiences provided by Third-Party Locations

All trademarks, logos, and business names belong to their respective owners.

If a business owner believes a listing is inaccurate or wishes to request removal or correction of information, they may contact us at:

Intellectual Property

All content within the App, including but not limited to:

  • text

  • graphics

  • icons

  • logos

  • digital stamps

  • curated lists of destinations

is the property of Chicago Passport or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without permission.

Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party service providers to operate functionality such as infrastructure, subscription management, and communication services.

Your use of the App may involve interaction with these services, which may have their own terms and privacy policies.

USER RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTIVITIES

THE APP MAY ENCOURAGE USERS TO VISIT PUBLIC PLACES, BUSINESSES, PARKS, OR ATTRACTIONS.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CONDUCT AND PERSONAL SAFETY WHEN VISITING ANY LOCATION DISCOVERED THROUGH THE APP.

YOU AGREE THAT CHICAGO PASSPORT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURIES, ACCIDENTS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER INCIDENTS THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE VISITING OR INTERACTING WITH LOCATIONS LISTED IN THE APP.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHICAGO PASSPORT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.

THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

  • LOSS OF DATA

  • LOSS OF PROFITS

  • SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

  • DAMAGES RESULTING FROM VISITING LOCATIONS DISCOVERED THROUGH THE APP

YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if:

  • you violate these Terms

  • your use of the App causes harm to the service or other users

  • required by law

Users may terminate their account at any time using the Delete Account feature within the App.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved in the courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date above.

Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

  • These Terms are between you and Chicago Passport, not Apple.

  • Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App.

  • Apple is not responsible for addressing claims related to the App, including product liability or legal compliance.

You also acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
