Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chicago Passport mobile application (the "App") operated by Cameron Brenson (Bored in Chicago) ("we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

Description of the Service

Chicago Passport is a mobile application that allows users to discover destinations, collect digital stamps, and explore locations within Chicago and surrounding areas.

Features may include:

  • Viewing destination locations

  • Collecting digital stamps

  • Tracking exploration activity

  • Accessing curated destination packs

  • Subscription-based premium features

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without notice.
We also reserve the right to modify requirements for earning stamps or completing packs at our sole discretion.

User Accounts

To use certain features, you may be required to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information

  • Maintain the security of your account

  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate laws or regulations

  • Attempt unauthorized access

  • Interfere with app functionality

  • Copy or exploit content commercially

  • Use bots, scraping, or automation

Violations may result in account termination.

Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription.

Current subscription offerings:

  • Chicago Explorer Pass Monthly: $4.99 per month

  • Chicago Explorer Pass Annual: $29.99 per year

Subscriptions are processed through:

  • Apple App Store

  • Google Play Store

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.

Billing, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Apple or Google account settings.

All purchases are final.
We do not provide refunds. Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google and are subject to their policies.

We do not collect or store payment card information.

Digital Stamps and Virtual Items

Digital stamps and virtual items:

  • Have no monetary value

  • Cannot be sold, traded, or transferred

  • May be modified or discontinued at any time

We reserve full control over these features.

Third-Party Locations and Businesses

The App may reference restaurants, businesses, attractions, and other locations ("Third-Party Locations").

Chicago Passport:

  • Is not affiliated with listed businesses unless stated

  • Does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information

  • Is not responsible for services or experiences at these locations

All trademarks and names belong to their respective owners.

Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party services (e.g., infrastructure, subscriptions, communications).
These services may have their own terms and policies.

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy:

USER RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTIVITIES

THE APP ENCOURAGES VISITS TO REAL-WORLD LOCATIONS.

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY AND CONDUCT.

CHICAGO PASSPORT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • INJURIES

  • ACCIDENTS

  • PROPERTY DAMAGE

  • INCIDENTS AT LOCATIONS

USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • MERCHANTABILITY

  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE

  • NON-INFRINGEMENT

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

  • THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE

  • INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE

  • THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHICAGO PASSPORT IS NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES

  • LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS

  • SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS

  • DAMAGES FROM VISITING LOCATIONS

YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chicago Passport and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your conduct at any location

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice.

Users may delete their account within the App.

Force Majeure

We are not responsible for failures or delays caused by events beyond our control, including outages, third-party failures, or natural events.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois.

Disputes will be resolved in courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of changes.

Apple App Store Additional Terms

If downloaded via Apple:

  • These Terms are between you and Chicago Passport, not Apple

  • Apple is not responsible for the App

  • Apple has no obligation to provide support

  • Apple is not responsible for claims related to the App

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms.
